Celebrating knowledge

It’s not a jubilee without jubilation! However, it’s not just the birthday of the university that we are celebrating, but above all what it stands for: research, teaching and knowledge. At 275 years old, FAU offers plenty of opportunities for scientists, students, employees and friends to celebrate together.

To mark FAU’s 275th anniversary, the Fürth-based composer and FAU alumnus, Uwe Strübing, created the celebratory cantata ‘Truth and Love’. The University’s Music Director, Prof. Dr. Konrad Klek, has composed the biblical ‘Canticles of Love’ (1 Corinthians 13) in combination with poems by Friedrich Rückert and Matthias Claudius. It teaches subtly the science of humility. The world premiere, comprising the FAU University Orchestra, University Choir, and soloists, will take place at the end of the opening symposium in the St. Matthäus Church.
