Rowing works up an appetite. It is therefore fitting that the Roman patrol and convoy boat built by students, school pupils and other volunteers under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Boris Dreyer, expert in ancient history at FAU, should have its own bread. Not just any bread, of course, but genuine Roman bread. The Franconian baker Der Beck is producing the bread on the basis of a refined original recipe and is selling it in their branches. Proceeds from the sales are being used to support the Roman boat, with Der Beck donating 10 cents for each loaf which is sold to the project.
